Mali: Boko Haram and Tuaregs join forces with Mujahedeen of Al-Qaeda and Ansar al-Din

Publication time: 12 April 2012, 13:24
Nigerian Mujahideen from Boko Haram arrived to join the Malian Mujahideen in their controlled northern town of Gao, reports the Ansar Forum and AFP.

"There are a good 100 Boko Haram fighters in Gao. They are Nigerians and from Niger, said Abu Sidibe, a regional puppet deputy. - They're not hiding. Some are even able to speak in the local tongue, explaining that they are Boko Haram".

According to Malian puppets, it was the Mujahideen of Boko Haram who had attacked the consulate of the puppet Algerian "government" in the Gao last Thursday.

"They had black skin", said puppets.

Local residents reported from Bamako that they had seen Boko Haram Mujahideen openly driving a car that had been "jacked" from the consul himself.

Meanwhile the command of Ansar al-Din expressed a desire to appoint one of the commanders of al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), Abu Yahya al-Humam, as a Wali, or governor, of city of Timbuktu.

Yahya Abu al-Humam (Jamal Ukasha) is an Algerian Emir of al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, and the commander of the Islamic brigade of Al-Furqan, which had been established several years ago in this area and is responsible for the western region along the border with Azevada along with the border of Mauritania.

It is expected that the assistant of Emir Yahya in managing the affairs of the city will be selected from the local mujahedeen of Ansar al-Din or AQIM.

The source reported that the Mujahideen joined by the Tuareg militia under the command of the Colonel of Malian army al-Hajj Ag Gamou.

A large group of Tuareg who had formerly supported the puppet regime, arrived in Kidal with weapons and vehicles, and declared their loyalty to the mujahedeen of Ansar al-Din.
